Biome is a small, thoughtful contemporary art space located in Kitano / Nakayamate-dori in central Kobe. Biome is an independent exhibition space that hosts contemporary art shows, events, and creative programming in an intimate setting.

BIOME is a Kobe-based art space that describes itself as “a gallery, but not a gallery,” combining the ideas of kanjiru (feeling/art) and manabu (learning). Rather than only presenting artworks, Biome aims to share the ideas, backgrounds, and perspectives behind artists’ and specialists’ work, creating a place where visitors can both experience art and deepen their understanding of the world—and themselves.
