KH Gallery is a gallery space built around the creative world of Hiroko Koshino, one of Japan’s best-known fashion designers. It presents the story of Koshino Hiroko through exhibitions and events centered on her paintings, while also featuring art/fashion fusion and collaborations with artists in other fields. The building was originally Koshino’s residence, designed by Tadao Ando, and was later opened to the public in 2013 as a gallery space.
KH Gallery is easy to pair with a broader art-and-architecture day in the Hanshin area, especially if you’re exploring Ashiya and nearby Kobe. The gallery emphasizes a calm viewing experience and rotating programming, so it’s worth checking what’s on before you go.
KH Gallery is in Ashiya (Hyogo), in the Okuike area. It’s best reached by car or taxi, and it’s a good idea to confirm access details and reservation instructions on the official site before heading out. Since the gallery is in a quieter residential/hillside area, public-transit-only access may require extra planning.
