If you’re exploring Kobe’s art scene and want a stop that’s easy to visit, locally rooted, and often overlooked by short-stay visitors, the Hyogo Prefectural Harada no Mori Gallery (兵庫県立原田の森ギャラリー) is a great pick. Set in Nada Ward near Oji Park, this public gallery hosts a changing program of exhibitions and community-oriented cultural events in a calm, approachable setting. The gallery is also noted for its permanent collection of outdoor sculptures with works by Mogami Hisayuki, Yanagihara Yoshitatsu, Emilio Greco, Shimane Sho, and Watanabe Toyoshige.
The gallery sits along Kobe’s art-rich corridor and pairs especially well with a walkable “Museum Road” day. The gallery is part of a broader cultural zone that also includes the Yokoo Tadanori Museum of Contemporary Art right next door, making this an easy add-on if you’re planning to walk the Museum Road.
The gallery is in Nada Ward, near Oji Park and along Kobe’s “Museum Road” area. According to the official access page, it’s about a 10-minute walk from JR Nada Station, about a 15-minute walk from Hanshin Iwaya Station, and roughly a 20-minute walk from Hankyu Oji-koen Station.
