Kobe is known as the historic heart of Jazz in Japan and if you want a classic Kobe night out with live music, Jazz Live and Restaurant SONE is one of the city’s most beloved jazz clubs. Open since 1969, it’s a warm, retro-feeling room where you can have dinner and drinks while listening to live jazz.
SONE is just a short walk north of Sannomiya, making it perfect as an “anchor” for an evening: arrive, settle in, catch a set (or two), and let the night unfold. The lineup changes daily, so it’s worth checking the schedule before you go, especially if you want to time your visit around a favorite vocalist or player.
